    Brian Ahrens

    Executive Vice President, Director, Strategic Investment Research Group

    Brian Ahrens, Portfolio Manager and Executive Vice President of Prudential’s Strategic Investment Research Group, leads a group of analysts dedicated to investment consulting and portfolio construction services. Currently the group provides consulting services across Prudential’s domestic businesses that consist of annuities, separate managed accounts and mutual funds. Mr. Ahrens also leads a team dedicated to discretionary management of asset allocation portfolios. The team’s multi manager approach uses top down and bottom up risk assessments on a total of 15 asset allocation portfolios. Mr. Ahrens has been with Prudential for over 20 years.

    Mr. Ahrens earned his M.B.A. in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He graduated from James Madison University with a double major in Finance and German.

    Gail Trautman

    Senior Associate of Administration

    Gail has been the Executive Assistant of the Strategic Investment Research Group since December 2003. Along with her administrative functions within the group, Gail is also responsible for producing all quarterly reports for presentation to the Insurance and Retail Boards of Directors. Gail first joined Prudential in September of 1997 as a member of the Retirement Services Group where she served in various administrative roles.

    Ms. Trautman earned her Secretarial Certificate from Sussex County Community College in June 1997.

    Director

    David Alter joined Prudential Investments in July 2010 as an investment manager research analyst within the Strategic Investment Research Group (“SIRG”). Prior to joining SIRG, Mr. Alter spent five years at Prudential Retirement in various capacities including: Investment Product Development, where he developed the Institutional Select sub-advised Platform; and Product Management, where he was responsible for maintaining the firm’s $25 billion Retail Mutual Fund Platform and managing a team of two mutual fund analysts. Before joining Prudential Retirement, Mr. Alter spent two years as an investment manager research analyst at Advest, Inc. and ten years in various roles in the Managed Accounts Group at UBS PaineWebber (now UBS Financial Services, Inc.).

    Mr. Alter graduated from The George Washington University with a B.A. in Liberal Arts.

    Rick T. Babich

    Vice President

    Mr. Babich serves as the head of manager research for the Strategic Investment Research Group, responsible for the firm's overall research effort and managing the research analysts.

    Prior to joining Prudential, Mr. Babich was a director of research for Parker Global Strategies, an alternative investment firm specializing in fund-of-fund solutions for insurance companies, pensions, endowments and high-net-worth individuals, where he served on its Investment and Executive committees. Prior, he was a research analyst at Commerzbank in the Alternative Investment Strategies group, responsible for sourcing managers, performing due diligence, and monitoring the investment portfolio. Prior, Mr. Babich worked in various roles at Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan. He began his career in finance as a trader assistant at Caxton Corporation in 1994. Mr. Babich is a director on the board of CenterLight Health System, a non-profit organization dedicated to quality of life in the New York metropolitan area. He is the Chair of its Investment Committee and a member of the Finance Committee.

    Mr. Babich has a B.S. from Rutgers University in environmental and business economics. He received his MBA from Fordham University in 2002 with a concentration in Finance.

    Saleem Banatwala

    Director

    Saleem Banatwala joined Prudential Investments in February 2013 as a research analyst focused on Portfolio Construction with the Strategic Investment Research Group (“SIRG”). Prior to joining SIRG, Mr. Banatwala worked as an analyst for a pension consulting firm, and was responsible for the development of strategic investment policy for various foundations, endowments, and corporate pension plans. In addition to this, he conducted due diligence on various target date fund offerings for corporate defined contribution plans.

    Mr. Banatwala received his B.B.A. from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. He is a CFA charter holder and a member of the New York Society of Securities Analysts.

    Lauren Barone

    Director

    Lauren Barone joined the Strategic Investment Research Group (“SIRG”) in October 2008. She is responsible for trading and operations support of the asset allocation portfolios. Ms. Barone’s primary functions include pre trade compliance, trade execution, and reconciliations. Ms. Barone has been with Prudential since 2003. Prior to joining SIRG she worked as an associate manager in private investment operations.

    Ms. Barone received a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.B.A. from Centenary College.

    Cherrise Cederqvist

    Vice President

    Cherrise Cederqvist joined Prudential in 2013 to oversee the Emerging Manager Investment Program. Prior to joining Prudential, Ms. Cederqvist was a Managing Director at Principal Global Investors where she was head of Business Strategy, encompassing Product Development and Acquisitions. Prior, she worked in various institutional sales and marketing roles at Credit Suisse Asset Management, Oppenheimer Capital and UBS Asset Management.

    Ms. Cederqvist has a B.A. from University of Rhode Island in Psychology. She received her MBA from Columbia University.

    Prior to joining the Strategic Investment Research Group (“SIRG”) in May 2009, Mr. D’Alessandro was an investment analyst within the Retirement Plan Strategies department of Prudential Retirement. In this role, Mr. D’Alessandro was responsible for the research and the construction of Prudential Retirement’s target date glide path solution to be used with its retirement income product. Before joining Prudential Retirement, he worked for The Hartford as an investment analyst and Hartford Investment Management Company (HIMCO) as a fixed income portfolio analyst/risk manager.

    Mr. D’Alessandro graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a B.B.A. in Finance.

    Matt Dingee is a member of the Strategic Investment Research Group's ("SIRG") Investment Strategy Team. The Investment Strategy Team focuses on developing market views and providing thought leadership in support of the management of client investment portfolios and providing proactive advice to SIRG’s clients.

    Mr. Dingee joined SIRG in February 2009 as an investment manager research analyst. Before the formation of the Investment Strategy Team he was a Director of Manager Research.

    Prior to joining SIRG, Mr. Dingee was a senior investment analyst within the Retirement Plan Strategies group of Prudential Retirement. In this role, he was responsible for monitoring and researching investment options across a multitude of asset classes and investment styles.

    Prior to joining Prudential Retirement, Mr. Dingee was employed at Hartford Life as a senior investment analyst responsible for research and oversight of The Hartford's mutual fund platform. He also spent 10 years at Advest, where he served as an investment analyst for the wrap fee separate account program.

    Mr. Dingee graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a B.B.A. in Finance and has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He is a member of the CFA Institute, the Hartford CFA Society, and served on the Finance Committee of Christ Church Cathedral in Hartford, CT.

    Erik Eliassen

    Director

    Erik Eliassen joined the Strategic Investment Research Group (“SIRG”) as a research analyst in January 2016. Mr. Eliassen is primarily responsible for manager due diligence within fixed income strategies, while also assisting with alternative and multi-asset strategies. He joined Prudential Investments in January 2013, and worked as an Internal Wholesaler on the Mutual Fund Sales Desk prior to joining SIRG.

    Mr. Eliassen graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Technology. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, as well as a member of the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Securities Analysts.

    Prior to joining the Strategic Investment Research Group (“SIRG”) in February of 2009, Ms. Holcomb was a senior investment analyst within the Retirement Plan Strategies department of Prudential Retirement. In this role, Ms. Holcomb was responsible for monitoring and researching investment options in the International, Real Estate, and Alternative mandates. Before joining Prudential Retirement, she worked for ING Investment Management (formerly known as Aeltus Investment Management) as an equity analyst, performing both quantitative and qualitative investment analysis. She began her career as an actuarial assistant at Mutual of New York.

    Ms. Holcomb graduated magna cum laude from the University of Connecticut with a B.S. in Mathematics - Actuarial Science. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and is a member of the Hartford CFA Society.

    Joseph Hunt

    Joseph Hunt joined Prudential Investments in June 2004 as an investment manager research analyst with the Strategic Investment Research Group (“SIRG”). Prior to joining SIRG, he spent thirteen years with PaineWebber Inc. (now UBS Financial Services Inc.), working in various capacities. Mr. Hunt worked as a senior analyst in UBS Financial Services Inc.’s Investment Manager Research Group. In this role, he served as a team leader overseeing the evaluations of all investment management firms in the small- and mid-cap asset classes across numerous wrap-fee based programs.

    Mr. Hunt also served as a member of the Manager Research Review Committee while at PaineWebber Inc. He has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Saint Peter’s College.

    Todd Kerin is a research analyst in the Strategic Investment Research Group's (SIRG) Portfolio Construction team focusing on the discretionary management of multi-manager solutions. These responsibilities include manager selection and risk budgeting for asset allocation and multi-managed strategies in both traditional and alternative asset classes. Mr. Kerin joined Prudential Investments and SIRG in October 2006 as an investment manager research analyst.

    Prior to joining SIRG, Mr. Kerin spent 12 years with Standard and Poor’s (S&P) working in various capacities. Most recently, he worked as a senior fixed income analyst in S&P’s Credit Market Services Group. In this role, he assigned credit quality and volatility ratings to fixed income portfolios.

    Mr. Kerin received his M.B.A. in Finance from Saint Thomas Aquinas College and B.A. from Western New England College.

    Andrei O. Marinich

    Vice President

    Andrei Marinich, portfolio manager and Vice President of Portfolio Construction, oversees a team focused on discretionary management of multi-manager investment portfolios including risk budgeting and manager allocation for both traditional and alternative asset classes.

    Prior to joining Prudential in 2000, Mr. Marinich worked for PaineWebber, Inc. and its subsidiaries as an investment manager research analyst and prior to that, as a senior portfolio analyst at Mitchell Hutchins Asset Management, the asset management arm of PaineWebber. A member of the New York Society of Securities Analysts and the CFA Institute, Mr. Marinich is a graduate of Rutgers University with a degree in Economics and holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Investment Management Consultants Association. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

    Gregory Narissi joined Prudential Investments in March 1998 as a performance measurement analyst in the Investment Management Services department. Prior to joining Prudential, he worked for Bankers Trust in their retirement plan valuation department.

    In April 2001, Mr. Narissi joined the Strategic Investment Research Group (“SIRG”) as a Systems/Database Specialist, having responsibility for overseeing the groups various software applications. Greg is primarily responsible for developing, streamlining, updating and testing all of the systems and reporting databases utilized by SIRG.

    Greg holds a B.S., cum laude, in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Albany, and an M.B.A from Fordham University.

    Diane O’Rourke joined the Strategic Investment Research Group (“SIRG”) in March 2006. She is responsible for trading and operations support of asset allocation portfolios. Ms. O’Rourke’s primary functions include pre trade compliance, trade execution, and reconciliations. Prior to joining Prudential, Diane was supervisor of international operations at First New York Securities LLC for eight years. She provided trade support for thirty international proprietary traders.

    Diane received her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Marist College.

    Anar Patel assumed the role of research analyst within the Strategic Investment Research Group (“SIRG”) in March of 2016.  Ms. Patel joined Prudential Investments and SIRG in June 2014 as an Investment Operations Associate, where she was responsible for trading and operations support of the asset allocation portfolios.  Prior to joining SIRG she spent a year with Plan Accounting Investment Operations under Prudential Investment Management.

    Ms. Patel graduated from Temple University with a B.B.A., cum laude, in Finance and International Business.

    Jeffrey Peasley

    Mr. Peasley is a Vice President and senior research analyst in the Strategic Investment Research Group of Prudential Investments, joining the organization in February 2009. Mr. Peasley oversees a team of five analysts who are responsible for the due diligence effort of the firm's sub-advised retirement platform. Prior to joining the group, Mr. Peasley was a product manager within the Retirement Plan Strategies department of Prudential Retirement. In this role, Jeff managed the Large Cap Value, Mid Cap Value, Mid Cap Blend and International mandate teams, where his responsibilities included product development, platform management, contract negotiations, sub-advisor relations, and communications.

    Before joining Prudential in 2009, Mr. Peasley spent the past 15 years at Advest, Inc., a regional broker/dealer located in Hartford, CT. His last position at Advest was vice president of due diligence, where he was responsible for the day-to-day management of the department that selected money managers for Advest’s wrap fee programs. Prior to that, Mr. Peasley was vice president and team leader of Managed Accounts Consulting at Advest, where he directed the group that oversaw the management of $1.5 billion in assets by institutional money managers.

    Mr. Peasley has a B.S. in Finance from the University of Connecticut.

    Parker Philp joined Prudential Investments in January 2014 as a research analyst within the Strategic Investment Research Group (“SIRG”). Prior to joining SIRG, Parker spent more than seven years with an alternative investment firm performing research on multiple strategies and asset classes. In addition to this, Parker served on the firm’s investment and portfolio review committees.

    Mr. Philp graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Marketing. He is a Level II candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.

    Gregory Principato joined the Strategic Investment Research Group (“SIRG”) in June of 2016.  He is responsible for trading and operations support of the asset allocation portfolios. Greg’s primary functions include pre trade compliance, trade execution, and reconciliations. Prior to joining SIRG he spent three years with Plan Accounting Investment Operations under Prudential Global Investment Management.

    Greg graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. In addition, he is currently pursuing his M.B.A. in Finance from Rutgers University

    William joined Prudential Financial as a senior research analyst in April 2000. Today, Mr. Spellman manages a team of investment professionals who are responsible for the due diligence effort of the firm's separately managed account platform. Prior to joining Prudential, Mr. Spellman spent seven years as an analyst and senior analyst for PaineWebber, in their insurance and managed money areas.

    Mr. Spellman received his M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University and B.B.A, cum laude, from Hofstra University. He also holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation.

    In addition to several civic organizations, Mr. Spellman is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association.

Prior to joining SIRG, Stephanie spent three years in the Prudential Finance Leadership Development Program which consisted of three one-year rotations throughout different businesses across the Enterprise within the finance organization.

    Mrs. Sullivan graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

    Richard Tavis is responsible for the Strategic Investment Research Group's ("SIRG") Investment Strategy Team. The Investment Strategy Team focuses on developing market views and providing thought leadership in support of the management of client investment portfolios and providing proactive advice to SIRG’s clients.

    Mr. Tavis joined Prudential Investments in October 2003 as an investment manager research analyst. Before the formation of the Investment Strategy Team he was a member of SIRG’s Portfolio Construction group. Prior to joining SIRG, Mr. Tavis worked with Chartwell Consulting, an institutional investment consulting firm, primarily providing due diligence on investment management firms to corporate pension plans, endowments, and foundations.

    Mr. Tavis received his Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance, summa cum laude, from Rider University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder, as well as a member of the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Securities Analysts.

    Michael Wasserman joined Prudential in July 2006 as a senior research analyst with the Strategic Investment Research Group (“SIRG”). Prior to joining SIRG, he spent two years as an independent financial advisor to high net worth individuals. Mr. Wasserman has 25 years experience related to manager research and consulting in mutual funds and separate account management, having worked for Chase Manhattan Bank’s Consulting Group (now JPMorgan Chase) and Standard & Poor’s. He was instrumental in developing Standard & Poor’s mutual fund research group and Select List of Funds. Mr. Wasserman was a senior voting member of Standard & Poor’s Investment Policy Committee for fund selection.

    Mr. Wasserman received his M.B.A in Finance, with Distinction, from Adelphi University and B.A. in Economics from the State University of New York at Albany.

    Steven West joined the Strategic Investment Research Group in May 2002. Mr. West has been with Prudential for 10 years, serving first as a financial advisor and later an internal coordinator for Investment Management Sales. Prior to working with Prudential, Steve worked as both a design and application engineer.

    Mr. West holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from West Virginia University. He is currently a CFA Level II candidate.

    Robert Whalen joined Prudential Investments Strategic Investment Research Group (“SIRG”) in October 2007 and is responsible for trading and operations support for the asset allocation products offered on the Variable Annuities platform. Primary responsibilities include pre trade compliance, trade execution and portfolio reconciliations. Mr. Whalen joined Prudential in 1998 where he was responsible for the Quantitative Management Associates operations group. Bob also spent 13 years with the Chase Manhattan Bank in the Global Futures and International Capital Markets groups.

    Mr. Whalen earned his M.B.A. in Finance from Iona College.
